Disney Is Releasing a Little Mermaid Perfume That Smells Like the Beach

Disney lovers rejoice — there’s a new scent launching that’s designed especially for you. Indie fragrance brand DefineMe‘s The Little Mermaid-themed perfume will be hitting shelves in fall 2019, and the bottle’s iridescent turquoise scales and shell motif are sure to make a splash. (Pun very much intended.) The launch is in honor of the 30th anniversary of the animated Little Mermaid film and is timed perfectly to coincide with ABC’s televised The Little Mermaid Live! this November, not to mention to drum up even more excitement for the live-action remake.

The perfume is called Princess Ariel, and it’s the first in a planned line of fragrances called the Disney Princess Perfume Collection, a series of collaborations between Disney and DefineMe to celebrate the most nostalgic Disney princesses. Fittingly, Princess Ariel will be a beachy scent, which, according to the press release, will feature notes of spicy-floral bergamot, jasmine, lilac, cinnamon-y tonka bean, coconut, driftwood, and neroli. The layered scent sounds perfect for fall, but truly devoted beauty lovers won’t have to wait that long to find out — the scent will be making its official debut at BeautyconLA on Saturday, August 10.

For the rest of us, Princess Ariel will be available in two sizes starting fall 2019 — a $28 travel size and an $88 full size — at DefineMe, Ulta, shopdisney.com, and some Disney Stores. And while the exact release date is still pending, you can sign up for updates on the fragrance, because if you’re anything like Ariel, there’s no telling how much marine mischief you could get into in the meantime.
